The Paris GlimmerTeam

It all started in 1992, when some internet-connected Stonesmaniacs who were already spending most of their free time talking about their favourite group on the usenet group alt.rock-n-roll.stones, decided to make an e-mailing list, called Undercover.

This mailing list, going stronger and stronger, has now about 1,500 subscribers, who call themselves "Glimmers", mostly in Europe and North America, but also some in about every country where you can hook a modem on a telephone line on 5 continents - Stevil, please correct me if there is any GlimmerPenguin in the Antarctic ;-) ...

Some of the best times we had these last monthes was to meet each other at the Rolling Stones shows. The "local" Glimmers organized gatherings in most cities of the Bridges to Babylon Tour, so some of the Frenchies on the list had the chance to go to New-York, Toronto, Montreal, Chicago, Dallas, Brussels, Nurnberg, Mannheim, Berlin, Prague, Istanbul, Athens, etc... to name a few.

And the Paris GlimmerTeam (actually the French GlimmerTeam, as many of us live far from the City of Lights) organized a whole week of festivities last july, for the concert in the Stade de France.

Among these GlimmerEvents, we put up a very special dinner, where about 80 Glimmers from more than 25 countries (including Japan, Australia, Brasil, USA, Canada, South Africa, and most European countries) had a great time getting together and dining with Mick Taylor himself and his musicians, after a wonderful concert in a 500 seat club near Paris.

But the world doesn't end with the Stones (does it, Bill ?), and we were also quite interested in "Stones-related" topics, including, as you might have guessed Mick taylor's and Bill Wyman's solo careers, and other artists too.

The only promo I ever heard of was these 10x15 cm black & white not_that_attractive flyers, available at tickets booths and spread all over the Stade de France before the Stones show in July.

When Bill's Paris show was announced late june, we were the first ones to get our tickets
